Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Skittles is a neutered male white-and-gray-tabby kitten, born on May 1, 2025. He was shy when the foster mom first got him, and he hid in the catio. But he is starting to peek around his hammock and learning to trust human touch. He has even warmed up to being held. Skittles loves wrestling with his litter mates and foster siblings. He needs a family who will nurture him and be patient in his journey to understanding human love. Skittles would also do best with a friendly cat or kitten friend as a buddy to help him blossom. Indoor cat only! The adoption fee is $75. This covers the cost of spay/neuter, PVR, Rabies, flea, tick, ear mite and worm treatment. To adopt, you need to first fill out an application. Go to:

We are located in Western North Carolina, but we serve New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and additional areas with our transport. The adoption fee covers the cost of spay/neuter, PVR or FVL-CP, Rabies, Flea, tick, ear mite and worm treatment before transport. All of our pets receive a health certification prior to transport. The transport is weekly. After your application is approved, we will contact you regarding cost and delivery.

We are located in Western North Carolina. All of our pets are housed with foster parents. You may visit our pets in North Carolina, but call ahead so that we can make them available to you. We serve Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and additional areas with our weekly transport.

Rutherford County Humane Society is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization that has been serving Rutherford County since 1979, with the mission to significantly improve the lives of unwanted and neglected animals, and to measurably decrease this number through our spay and neuter programs, volunteer foster homes, and outreach and education. We are an independent organization that works in collaboration with other area animal advocacy groups. All of our efforts depend on our passionately compassionate volunteers, and financial support from the community. We have made the decision to use our resources to continue promoting the number one solution to our pet overpopulation problem - and that is spay/neuter.
