Special medical needs
Jake will be nine years old on August 21st. He weighs 34 pounds. When not being a couch potato he enjoys going on walks and smelling all the wildlife. He will potty on leash. He is house trained and sleeps through the night. Jake used to be the only dog in his previous life so he would be okay being the only dog in a home. His foster home doesn't have kids, but he loves it when the great grandchildren come over.
Jake loves traveling and makes an excellent copilot. He also loves to run beside foster dad’s bicycle and loves it!
Jake has Addison’s disease which is a condition in which the adrenal glands do not produce enough quantity of certain hormones to help regulate body functions. Jake takes a very affordable daily medication which he needs to be on for the rest of his life. He also needs periodic bloodwork to make sure he’s regulated.
Jake is a very quiet and gentle boy, and he will be a great companion.
NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).
