My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*Name: Lunar

*Age: 2 years old

*Current Weight: 64lbs

*Rescued from: Georgia

*Adoption fee: $475

 Meet Lunar

Lunar’s story began like so many others — found wandering as a stray in rural Georgia, scared, alone, and running out of time. Thankfully, SNARR stepped in just in time to give this beautiful girl the second chance she deserved. Now, Lunar is blossoming into the happy, affectionate companion she was always meant to be.

Since leaving the shelter, Lunar — affectionately nicknamed Lulu — has made incredible progress. She’s learned the joy of soft beds (and proudly snoozes in hers now!), discovered how much fun toys can be (she's obsessed with them!), and realized that people mean love and belly rubs.... and as all German Shepherds are, loyal to her people beyond belief.

She’s learning new things every day — from understanding basic commands to running freely around the yard with her leash in her mouth like a proud little girl. Lunar is even learning to ask for what she wants — she gently places her cheek in your hand when she’s ready for pets or will nudge you if she wants your attention.

Bright, active, and full of life, Lunar is energetic and playful, but also affectionate and eager to please. She loves people and greets everyone like a long-lost friend.

Lunar's Favorite Things

  • Toys, toys, and more toys! She happily collects them all in her crate, her special “safe place.”

  • Playtime in the yard: Rolling, running, and chasing after rolling balls.

  • Being brushed: She loves spa time and sits patiently while you work through her beautiful coat.

  • Slipper snuggles: After a long day, she’s learning to relax and just enjoy being part of a family, loving to lay by your feet and rest her head on your slippers.

Lunar is active, intelligent and full of potential. She’ll thrive with someone who understands her breed’s energy and loves engaging both her mind and body.

More about this rescue

SNARR Northeast Animal Rescue's mission is "Giving Hope to the Hopeless.” SNARR stands for Special Needs Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation. We do focus on animals with special needs but we also rescue perfectly healthy dogs as well! SNARR works with municipal shelters all over the country to save animals at risk for being euthanized. Our dogs (and cats) are all in foster homes prior to being adopted.
