My Friends at Wayside say: - I am enrolled in Waifs with Wisdom. This is a program for dogs to learn basic commands and leash walking skills. My adoption comes with a free 30-minute private training session. - Don`t be fooled by my age, I still have a lot of puppy energy! - Loves tennis balls and stuffy toys! - My previous owner said that I am house-trained. - I am eligible for a Slumber Pawty, a 7-10 day in-home trial period.
My home needs are: - I need a home without other dogs - I prefer having your attention all to myself! - I have a lot of energy and need an active adopter! - Cats are much too interesting to me, so it recommended my home be cat free. - Wayside recommends bringing your children 9 years old and younger out to meet me before adoption to make sure they enjoy my enthusiasm for life! - Recommend no apartments or shared living spaces for me- when I am in busier areas with lots of other dogs around I can be reactive on leash.

Hi there, I’m Xena!
I’m a 6-year-old German Shepherd with a zest for life and a heart full of love. Don’t let my age fool you, I’ve still got plenty of that classic Shepherd energy and goofiness that’ll keep you smiling every day. Whether we’re going for a hike, hitting the trails, or just playing in the yard, I’m always up for an adventure with my favorite people.
I’m both housetrained and crate trained, so I’ve got the basics down. What I’m really looking for now is an active home where I can stretch my legs, explore the world, and be included in your daily life. I thrive when I have a job to do, even if that job is simply being your loyal sidekick.
I got to go on a field trip. I jumped right in the back seat. I rode in the car beautifully. I loved being able to stick my nose out of the windows. We only walked around Minor Park for about 30 minutes since it was already so warm. I did great. I enjoyed a sausage biscuit and an ice cream pup cup from Sonic. We went for an extended car ride after that. I had so much fun. I can`t wait to go again.
I am a bit afraid of other dogs and unsure of the best way to interact with them. My friends at Wayside have been working on teaching me how to be comfortable around other dogs but for now, I`ll need a home without other dogs in it and where I don`t have to worry about going t
