My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

🌷 Meet Sue — an adult female, spayed, and named in honor of a very special grandma, because she’s just as warm, kind, and unforgettable.

Sue has fur that feels like pure velvet and a personality that could melt the hardest heart. She’s the sweetest, gentlest cat in the cat room, moving through life with quiet grace and endless patience. Whether she’s perched in a sunny spot, softly purring in your lap, or offering a gentle nudge for pets, Sue exudes love in every soft, silky gesture.

She’s a calm, affectionate companion who appreciates gentle attention and will reward your kindness with devotion, soft purrs, and tender head bumps. Adopt Sue and bring home a little velvet-hearted angel who will fill your home with warmth, sweetness, and a lifetime of love. 🐾💖More information? More about this shelter

Marion Area Humane Society is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization incorporated in 1967 under ORC 1717. We strive to educate, assist and protect the animals of the Marion area. Since 1986 have operated a shelter to provide a humane environment for homeless animals. In 2011 several generous donors and grants made it possible for a shelter renovation and addition of a separate intake section. MAHS operates a open-admissions shelter with a guilt and fee free surrender policy, to encourage owners who can not properly care or maintain proper living conditions for their pets to do the best thing for the pet. MAHS also provides humane investigations and a spay/neuter voucher program for Marion county.
