My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

📋 Now Hiring: A Human for Brutus 🐾
Full-Time Companion Needed – Benefits include kisses, zoomies, and zero personal space.

Brutus is a one-year-old pup who was adopted from our shelter as a tiny potato with paws, and recently returned for—get this—acting like a puppy. (Shocking, we know.) His previous employers—I mean, adopters—said he was a little too energetic, a bit too bouncy, and maybe overly enthusiastic about his work in “creative garbage relocation.”

But here at the shelter? Brutus has been nothing but a lovable goofball with untapped potential. He’s smart, sweet, and just dying to clock in for a real job.

He’s currently seeking full-time employment as:
• Adventure Buddy
• Professional Jogging Pal
• Amateur Sock Relocation Specialist
• Unlicensed Therapist (Payment in snacks, please)

Brutus is young, eager to learn, and just needs someone willing to offer him a little training, a little structure, and a whole lotta love. He’s ready to work hard, play hard, and nap like it’s his job.

If you’re hiring for a loyal sidekick who thrives with a purpose (and maybe a chew toy), Brutus is ready to interview—no résumé, just vibes. 🐶💼✨More information? Call Marion Area Humane Society at 740-389-6548 or email at manager@mahspets.org

More about this shelter

Marion Area Humane Society is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization incorporated in 1967 under ORC 1717. We strive to educate, assist and protect the animals of the Marion area. Since 1986 have operated a shelter to provide a humane environment for homeless animals. In 2011 several generous donors and grants made it possible for a shelter renovation and addition of a separate intake section. MAHS operates a open-admissions shelter with a guilt and fee free surrender policy, to encourage owners who can not properly care or maintain proper living conditions for their pets to do the best thing for the pet. MAHS also provides humane investigations and a spay/neuter voucher program for Marion county.
