My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Sweet Hazel is officially ready for her "furever" family!

Hazel’s Expertise:

  • Sweet Cuddler
  • Professional Napper
  • Future Best Friend

Hazel didn't have the easiest start. We first met her through our  TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return)  program—those notched ears are a badge of her time spent outdoors. She was a devoted mama to her own kittens and even worked as a "nanny" to several others!

While she was meant to be returned to the wild, we quickly realized she is far too affectionate for life on the streets.

This girl is a total gem who prefers head scratches to hunting. Now, it’s finally her turn to be the one looked after. She’s ready to be pampered, loved, and treated like the queen she is!

Hazel is fully vetted, fixed, and ready to rock her adoption day. She  would be a wonderful match for a single professional or a couple in a quiet home.

She’s low-maintenance, well-behaved, and perfectly content being on her own for stretches of the day.

She may be shy with new people at first, but once she decides you’re safe, she forms a deep bond and becomes a loyal, affectionate, and playful companion. She’s just waiting for that special someone to scoop her up.

Adoption Information – Please Read Carefully

Adoption Fees:

 $150 for one kitten

 $250 for a bonded pair

If you  rent  your home, we respectfully ask for your landlord or management company’s contact info to verify that pets are allowed. If you  own  your home, we will confirm ownership through public records.

Have questions? Your inquiry will receive priority  if you first submit an application  at www.DextersKitties.org.

Cats can live 20+ years.  Adopting is a lifelong commitment. Please ensure you have:

– Financial resources for emergency vet care

– A stable and cat-friendly home

– A backup plan for your cat’s care if something happens to you

Thank you for choosing to adopt and save a life!
