Calypso Henson is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home!
Calypso dances to the beat of her own drum.
This gorgeous 1 year old wirehaired pointer mix hears the call of the wild and wants to be where the breeze takes her-especially if that means chasing birds, squirrels, bunnies, and chipmunks. This girl has a tracking collar and MUST be adopted to a home with a fully fenced yard who understands fearful, flight risk pups. All foster dogs and new rescues are considered flight risks, but miss Calypso is a little Houdini. While Calypso comes across as comfortable and easy at adoption events, she's quite timid and skittish in the home and will need a family that is willing to give her time and space to come into her own.
Calypso is a gorgeous free spirit and absolutely thrives in a home with other dogs her size or smaller, and at least one other confident dog will be required for her forever home. She much prefers pups to people, and needs to learn that she is safe and loved. She’s not a super cuddler, but she does like to know you’re nearby and that she is safe and loved.
Calypso is crate and house trained and generally pretty quiet in the house with an occasional bark if she's startled.
If you are interested in adopting this dog please complete the adoption application at www.rhodehomerescue.org/adoption-form to become a pre-approved adopter.
