Meet Capone – our big ol’ lovebug with a heart as soft as his velvety ears and a body built for serious lounging. He rocks a stylish white coat with orange-tan patches that give him a bit of a “spotted cow in sweatpants” vibe – and honestly, he pulls it off.
Capone’s story starts here at Wags, where he was adopted as a puppy. Life took a turn, and through no fault of his own, his owner made the incredibly selfless choice to return him when illness made it too hard to care for him.
Thankfully, he found a second chance with a wonderful dad and his two daughters. Now, full disclosure: when they brought Capone home, they were told he was a “total couch potato.” And for the first few days, Capone said, “Hold my leash,” and played fetch like it was an Olympic sport. But after a little decompression time from shelter life, he discovered his true calling: melting into the cushions, snuggling his humans, and claiming every cozy blanket as his own.
Capone LOVES his people – especially the kids – and prefers to be touching someone at all times. Unfortunately, his dad’s girlfriend has dogs, and Capone isn’t too thrilled about long-term roommates. He’ll tolerate other dogs for a weekend sleepover, but after that? He’s packing their bags. We get it – not everyone is into the “shared snacks and space” lifestyle.
So here’s what Capone’s looking for:
• A home where he’s the only furry star of the show
• Kids are great, but maybe a bit older (he’s a big guy and may accidentally knock over the littles in his quest for kisses)
• Someone who appreciates the art of doing absolutely nothing together
Capone has already known love – and he’s ready to find it again, this time forever. Could his happily-ever-after be with you?

Meet the Pet
Schedule a meet and greet with the adoptive dog and your family at our rescue center in Plainfield.

Sign Adoption Contract
If all approve, sign contracts and pay adoption fee
Adoption Fees are: $200.00-$500.00 (subject to change without notice)

Wags 2 Wishes Animal Rescue's mission is to rescue abused, abandoned and forgotten animals in Illinois and surrounding states that are facing euthanasia and provide a loving and secure atmosphere for the animals transition in our foster home based program. The animals are given time to transition from lives of hardship and become cherished members of their foster family and eventually their forever home.
