Meet Aries, he's a handsome Shepherd/Husky mix. He's about 14 months so he's considered a teenager. He's on the larger size but thin as he's still has some growing and filling out to do. When Aries came to Rover Rescue he was found to have a heart defect that will require medication for the rest of his life however Rover Rescue has pledged to continue to provide the medication for him.
Aries true to his breeds is active, lives to run and may even howl at times. I believe he has herding tendencies as he loves to nudge everything with his nose and chase feet. He loves people and can be very affectionate, he loves to be close to his favorite people. He loves toys and will chase a ball for as long as someone can continue throwing. Aries is currently going thru basic obedience class and doing well but he still likes to jump on us, that is something we're strongly working on. He is not destructive in the house and is housetrained, but he can get bored if alone long in the yard and will dig. He loves long walks and doing much better on pulling.
Aries will do best in a adult home or older teenagers who can give him lots of play time. Also because of his herding tendencies other dogs get annoyed with him so he will do best as only dog to keep peace. Aries adoptive family will have an added bonus of a free 6-week obedience class at Elmhurst Animal Care Center. Aries has been neutered, updated on vaccines and microchipped. If you would be interested in meeting Aries or hearing more about him, please call Jody at 708 268 6965. His adoption fee is $275.
