My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Contact my foster at hrose9008@gmail.com

Blind chonker Max is a sweet middle-aged man who found himself in the shelter after his owner’s health declined.
He sits in his kennel, confused of this new loud space to navigate, sometimes found pacing, sometimes found crying.

Max had a few foster breaks, and this is what has been gathered!!
• Vision impaired
• Fully potty-trained, no accidents
• Sleeps through the night and doesn’t snore!
• Low energy dog, but can be strong on leash, so a harness is recommended
• No preference for male or female but prefers to inhibit foster mom’s movement and stick close by
• Intrigued by the sound of children but NO interactions
• Takes treats gently
• Doesn’t bark at home - at all! But he did flex his vocal cords at ACC after exam!
• No Gwen Stefani music, please. Not a fan.
• He had a HOT SPA DATE with Kylin, owner of Waggin Wagon! Looks and smells so nice!
• Has almost learned how to travel the floor plan unassisted, and sits politely when getting harnessed
• Doing beautifully on a restricted diet and can find his water bowl and bed(s) without verbal or manual guidance.
• Max comes out of his shell a little more each day, but we are progressing at a slow pace for his trust and comfort.

While Max had previous notes of being dog friendly, new environments are tricky for him. He attaches himself to his person for comfort and does not like sharing the affection and security this brings him. At this time, Max will do best in an animal free home where he can learn a new environment and routine in peace.
