My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Dana and I’m a cuddly, friendly girl looking for my forever home. I’m 4 y.o. and came to my foster home here in Monroe, WI, from a commercial breeding facility where it was my job to make puppies. I had no idea what happened to my puppies went when they left, but then one day I left too! I was nervous at first because I’d never been anywhere else. But OMG! Living in a home with people is so nice! There is so much to explore here and the people are so kind. They have s a special room just for sleeping that has the biggest, softest bed that I’ve ever seen. I knew it was just for me when I saw the convenient set of stairs leading up to it that were just my size. But the humans like to sleep in it too, and there’s room for all of us, so I share. They have smaller soft beds too, where they sometimes sit. I can jump up there for a snuggle or roll over when I want a belly rub. There are also toys here! I love the soft squishy ones best. Sometimes I play all by myself, but I also like to run and play with the other resident dogs in the fenced yard. We have so much fun chasing each other around. Sometimes I hide in the big hosta plants. And other times we go out for leash walks in the neighborhood. Foster mom says I’m a good walker, even though I prefer to choose which way we go. I’m a good girl in the house, with no potty accidents. When my foster family has to go out, I hang out with the other dogs and don’t get into trouble. I haven’t met any cats or small pets, or any young human kids. But I’ve met some teenagers and I like them a lot. I pretty much like anyone who will give me love and attention. I’m a healthy girl – spayed and vaccinated. I weigh 26 lbs. My perfect forever family will be one that loves to play and cuddle. If there’s another nice dog here, that’s great. But I’d also be fine as the only dog, as long as you have time to spend with me. If you live in the Midwest and want to share your life with a silly, sweet, snuggly Shiba like me, then visit www.savingshibas.com/adopt to apply to become an approved SIRA adopter. The application process helps SIRA learn more about you so they can tell if we’ll be a good match. Once approved, they’ll introduce you to my foster mom so we can meet. I can’t wait!
