This helps ALL 4 ANIMALS RESCUE INC with pet care costs.
Louie is a young American Pitbull (~70 lbs) with eyes that will melt your heart. He had a rough start to life and is working on regaining his confidence day by day. He had been going to Canine Body and Mind for behavior training and also participated in Serenity Spaw doggy daycare one day a week to help with socialization. He was sensitive to the action and barking at the doggy daycare, so he is now staying on the rescue side, which is much quieter for him. He really is just the sweetest big baby. He is not really into playing fetch. His favorite thing seems to be laying a couch, while he sploots. It takes him some time to feel comfortable with new people, one thing he doesn't care for is new people reaching for him to touch his head, however he will warm up once he gets to know you. He interacts with mutliple volunteers weekly and is doing much better adjusting to seeing a variety of people. Louie is the biggest cuddle bug once he trusts you, but he likes to do things on his terms. He thinks he's smaller than he is and will try to crawl into your lap. He is good on a leash and likes car rides. He knows basic commands and is very treat motivated, when comfortable. He is doing well with the command "place", going to a designated spot to wait for food or to get his leash on to go outside. Louie may need continued training and will definitely need patience from his forever person, but it is definitely worth the time. Louie would do best in a quite home with a 6ft fence, and with someone who understands his breed. He does better with women and will require a few meet and greets before going to his forever home. At this time we would prefer he be the only animal as he has gotten into some tiffs with other more assertive pups. Louie would not do well in apartment/ condo life either but, does well in a kennel which would go home with him!
