Vanessa is she’s bursting with life, love, and happy, wiggly puppy energy. She’s is always excited to head out of her kennel (who can blame her?), and has really good leash manners. Once off leash, her fun loving personality really shines!
She’s very treat and toy motivated and absolutely loves squeaky toys. She’ll chase after them, bring them back, and happily keep the game going. You might have to engage in a little tug-of-war to get the toy back - not because she’s guarding it, but because she’s having the time of her life and doesn’t want the fun to stop! A treat distraction works too.
Vanessa can get very excited when she knows a treat or toy is coming her way. She seems to turn into a pogo stick when excited, but that jumping is something she’s working on. She’d benefit from continued training and structure to help her channel that enthusiasm. Beneath her puppy like enthusiasm you can tell Vanessa is very smart and motivated. She quickly learned how to climb the ramp in our play yard, and barely needs any encouragement to climb it now. She knows how to sit on command, she’s just too excited to hold it for long. When you’re petting her, you’ll see her softer side. She’s very calm while you’re loving on her, and she’ll happily lie beside you for as long as you’ll pet her. After a moment she’ll roll over for belly rubs. She’s truly a cuddle bug at heart.
Vanessa is still very much a puppy at heart - high energy when she’s excited, but still sweet and affectionate. With consistency, training, and an active family ready to embrace her zest for life, she’s going to blossom into an amazing companion. She’s ready to learn, ready to love, and ready for her forever home.
