Meet Franklin #3898, a lovable little firecracker with a big personality and an even bigger heart! This two-year-old cutie came into a Louisiana shelter in rough shape—emaciated, scruffy, and in need of some TLC. Thankfully, a dedicated foster family stepped in and helped him on his journey back to health. Today, Franklin weighs a healthy 17 pounds and is slowly but surely regrowing his coat.
We’re not quite sure what Franklin is mixed with, but we do know he’s 100% adorable. With his wild hair and expressive eyes, we think he’s the spitting image of Animal from The Muppets—and he’s just as silly and full of life!
Franklin is bursting with puppy energy and always ready for his next adventure. He’s working on housebreaking (belly bands are helpful while he figures things out) and would thrive in a home with a fenced yard where he can zoom to his heart’s content. He enjoys walks, playtime, and the company of other dogs. He’s also curious about cats—though the cats in his foster home tend to keep their distance from this enthusiastic goofball!

Because of his young age and high energy, Franklin will do best in a home with a securely fenced yard and someone who can offer him plenty of exercise, enrichment, and love. He’d especially thrive in a calm home with an adopter who works from home—he loves to be close to his people. His foster mom says he’s incredibly sweet and just wants to be someone’s shadow and sidekick.
