My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bogie, a confident and affectionate cat with a big personality! Adopted as a kitten through ARPO, he was sadly returned due to family health issues and is now searching for his true forever home.

Bogie has done well in a quiet foster home but he also enjoyed the energy of a lively householdhe lived comfortably with active teens and previously got along well with a small dog. He might enjoy the company of a playful, respectful dog with proper introductions, though he would also be quite content as your one and only. Bogie would do best in a home with no kids under 12. He spent most of his life in a home without other cats but encounters resident cats through a gate in his foster home without a problem. He is very fearful of storms and fireworks.

This handsome boy is obsessed with his fishing pole toy and eagerly anticipates daily playtime. He has perfect litter box manners and loves to lounge on lapshis favorite place to be when his foster mom sits down. He enjoys having his back petted and scratched and will reward you with purrs and happy biscuit-making but emphatically lets you know when he has had enough. Hes comfortable meeting strangers and soon hell be rubbing against your legs, asking for attention.

While Bogie has many affectionate qualities, he does have boundaries and needs an experienced cat owner who understands feline body language. Hes currently enrolled in a vet-recommended behavioral training program to reduce nipping, particularly to hands around his face. Hes already making great progress with no nipping for several months. He does not mind being picked up or carried and, as cats go, he is easy to put in a carrier. He enjoys being brushed but can easily get overstimulated and will let you know.

As part of his training, Bogie is learning positive reinforcement techniques and has mastered sit and target (touching an object with his nose for a treat). He sits with verbal or visual hand cues. Hes incredibly smart and benefits from enrichment activities that challenge and engage him.

Bogies birthday is July 24, 2019. If youre looking for a loyal, intelligent companion with a bold personality and a heart full of potential, Bogie might just be the one for you.
