My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

No, this is not an alien from Planet Cuteness, it really and truly is a bunny! Whimsy is an angora-lionhead mix, hence her extreme floofiness and fetching forehead tufts. Her special Domino face coloring adds star quality. We are not certain of her exact age but she seems to be a younger bun. Underneath the abundance of fur she is on the petite side but don't be fooled - this diminutive creature possesses substantial poise and personality! Whimsy has gotten along well with (gentle) small children as well as (calm) large dogs, and she tolerates her grooming sessions with grace and dignity. (Please note, this bun will need to be brushed on a daily basis to keep her fur beautiful and mat-free, so grooming experience is strongly recommended!) Whimsy enjoys cheek rubs, elegantfurniture and bunny-friendly Timothy biscuits. She is now auditioning for the role of permanent house rabbit in a loving home!

We adopt to indoor homes only! If you are interested in adopting a bunny from Orlando Rabbit Care and Adoptions, or would like more information on rabbit care, please visit our website at: http://www.orlandorabbit.org.The first step in our adoption process is to complete an adoption application, which can be found here: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/55856/generic . Then one of our volunteers will reach out to you via email to schedule a time to speak with you. If you don't see the email in a day or two, please check your spam folder!

Our Adoption Fee/Donation for a single rabbit is $100, a pair is $170, and a triple is $200. This helps to offset the cost of having the rabbits altered, microchipped and vaccinated, as well as any medical care that may have been required.

Additional adoption info

For those that want to bond a new rabbit with an existing rabbit, we conduct bonding events where the home rabbit can meet several rabbits to find a potential match. We work with the adopting family to help ensure that the rabbits bond. We take back the adoptive rabbit if there is not a match.

Our adoption agreement specifies that we will take any adopted rabbit back, should the home situation change in the future.

Go meet their pets

We are a foster-based rescue where our available animals are kept in private homes.

You can see our rabbits online, then make an appointment to meet the rabbit(s) you select.

From time-to-time, we conduct adoption events where you can meet multiple rabbits. Because of RHDV2, these events have been paused.

More about this rescue

We are a rescue and educational group dedicated to the health, care and enjoyment of house rabbits. We believe that pet rabbits are family members and should be housed indoors, should be fed a healthy diet, should be spayed or neutered, and should receive quality medical care. Our organization strives to provide bunny parents with information to help them care for their rabbit.
