Meet River – a stunning 1.5-year-old gray fluff queen with runway-worthy looks and a personality as unpredictable as, well… a river.

Once living life on the outside, River is still figuring out the whole “indoor cat” thing. She’s a master of mixed signals—one minute she’s purring like a freight train and demanding attention, and the next she’s letting you know the royal petting session is over with a swift swat. She’s not being mean—she just likes her personal space respected, thank you very much.

River is best suited as a solo cat—she’s not interested in sharing her throne. And because she can get overstimulated, she’ll need an adult-only (or older teen) home where her boundaries will be understood and honored.

She's a total foodie (mealtime is sacred), a world-class purr machine, and she’ll need someone who’s up for keeping her glorious gray coat looking red carpet ready.

In the right calm, cat-savvy home, we believe River will settle into a much more relaxed groove. Until then, she’ll be over here being gorgeous, dramatic, and unapologetically herself.

Please Note: Scruffy Paws operates by appointment only and is not open to the public. Many of our cats and kittens are in foster homes, so for the safety of our fosters and adopters, an approved adoption application is required before scheduling a meet-and-greet.
