My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Banana is a sweet-natured Holland Lop with adorable floppy ears and a love for head rubs. He's a gentle soul who relies on his slightly more outgoing friend, Coconut, for support. Curious by nature, these bunnies love exploring their surroundings and are enjoying their interactive enclosure made from xpens. Like most rabbits, Banana and Coconut initially require a leisurely approach so they know they are friends, not food. Once fed some tasty snacks they will be looking for more with gentle nudges!

Banana and Coconut are looking for an indoor forever home where they can be part of the family. They will need a bunny-proofed space, a healthy diet of hay, fresh veggies, and pellets, and lots of love and enrichment. They haven't quite gotten the hang of consistently using litter boxes but there seems to be improvement!

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

    Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

    Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

    Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

    1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

    2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

    3. Freedom from distress

    4. Freedom from discomfort

    5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
