My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you in need of a new office assistant? Cher is available! She is just over one year old and is an extremely friendly and social cat. Cher is an amazing cat with a dog-like personality! She loves playing fetch with her spring toys and pom-pom balls and will bring them to you when she wants to play. She goes absolutely crazy for the laser and will chase it around like it’s her mission. Once comfortable in her new surroundings, she absolutely loves being around people getting pets, especially chin scratches, which she’s completely crazy about. Cher enjoys being brushed with her favourite rubber glove and will gently meow at you if she misses you, or wants some attention. Cher is a lap cat who enjoys sleeping with her human, usually near the legs, without disturbing them. She loves soft blankets and will immediately start making biscuits before settling down for a nap. Boxes are another favourite and she’s quick to claim one if it’s around. She’ll happily follow you around the house, but is also independent and enjoys having her own quiet time, where you’ll often find her sleeping peacefully in the cutest positions on her cat tree or curled up in her bed. Cher is very food-motivated – she loves her treats! She loves to follow her people from room to room, and will even guard the bathroom door. One of her favourite spots is right behind you on your chair while you work, like a little supervisor. She’s easily distracted, though, as she is constantly trying to catch the mouse pointer on the screen - she’ll stare at it, follow it and swat at it like it’s a real toy. Cher also loves sitting by the window and watching the world go by. She’ll quietly observe the birds, insects, people, and cars with full focus. Cher is good with other cats, after a slow and proper introduction. To perform her job properly, having someone who works from home would be ideal for her.

Cher came to us as an owner surrender. She was living in a house with too many cats, and the owner could no longer care for them. Cher is anxious to start her life on her own, in her forever home at last.

Cher has a friendly and social personality, making her the perfect office assistant. While she might get distracted and wander off to play, she'll always return to keep you company, often finding a cozy spot on the back of your chair and happily seeking pets and scratches throughout the day.

More about this rescue

Home at Last Rescue (HALR) is a Registered Canadian Charity, that is 100% volunteer driven. Our goal is to rescue cats from substandard living conditions and give them the loving homes they deserve.

We provide medical care, emotional support and a loving environment while preparing them to find their forever homes. With no physical location, all of our cats and kittens reside in loving foster homes across the Greater Toronto Area until they are ready for adoption.

We receive no government funding and rely solely on adoption fees, donations and our fundraising efforts to support our initiatives. We believe there is a home for every cat and a cat for every home.
