My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi. I’m Tony.

I'm only two years old. Ruggedly handsome. Ears that tell a story. A heart that’s still learning how to trust again.

Let’s get this out of the way: I’m not your instant best-friend, in-your-face, “love me!!!” kind of cat. I’m more of a slow-burn, “watch from across the room and decide if you’re cool” type. But once I decide you’re good people? I melt. Completely.

I arrived at my current foster home back in early November, and I wouldn’t even sit near my foster mom. Now I climb onto the couch, curl up next to her, and fall asleep on her hand because it makes me feel safe. I even sit on her lap sometimes, but only because I chose it. (It’s all about the choices.)

Sudden movements still spook me a bit, but I’m working on it. I want to trust, you can see it in the way I peek around corners, inch forward, and eventually flop next to you for chin rubs and those magical head scratches.

Strangers? I’ll hide at first. But give me some time and a little quiet, and I’ll come out to say hello. I even let them give me pets, which is a big deal. For me, at least.

Let’s talk likes and dislikes:
✔ Love: chin scratches, head pets, brushing, cozy naps, food, curling up right against my human
✖ Nope: being picked up, fast hands, loud chaos, and anyone expecting me to be brave on day one or even after week one.

I’m a simple guy, feed me morning and night, give me a scratch pad, provide me with a space I can claim as my personal property, and I’m golden. I’ll even tell you when I’m hungry. (I’m polite, but not silent.)

What I want most?
A calm, gentle home with one or two humans who understand that trust takes time… and that a shy cat choosing you is one of the greatest compliments in the world. No small kids, no pets, just me and you learning each other at our own pace.

I promise you this: once I feel safe, once I believe you’re mine, I’ll be the sweetest, softest, most endearing boy you’ve ever met.

If you’re patient, I’ll give you my whole heart.
Love, Tony

Our fees include a full medical exam by a veterinarian. Dogs receive a Heartworm Check, Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, Canine Flu Vaccine, deworming, and Kennel Cough preventative. Our modest adoption fees do not cover the procedures and vet work that we provide the animals. We fundraise to make up the difference.
