My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Austin! This Anatolian shepherd mix is still in training and will only be placed with a home that understands the breed and will work with Austin to keep up the progress he is making. Austin, like many rescue dogs, had a rough start to life. He is very shy around new people and takes a while to warm up to them. He was born in June 2020, so he is still fairly young and would benefit from ongoing training and human companionship.

In his time at WAG, he has spent time with a similarly sized female dog, so he might do well with a canine companion. Austin is looking for a calm home, so children may be overwhelming to him.

More about this rescue

Since 2001, WAG has placed dogs into new, loving homes. Our rescues come to us in many ways: owner surrenders due to unplanned life changes, and strays found wandering streets and fields. Prior to adoption, all of our adult rescues are spayed/neutered, and all rescues receive all vaccines, are micro-chipped, and all other medical needs are addressed.
