Baxter was found wandering in our neighborhood July 2025. He had a microchip, but the pet's owner did not respond to contact. He appeared to be abandoned based on this and his physical condition. He was underweight but has gained some back. He has heartworms and is undergoing treatment that will finish mid-December 2025. X-rays confirmed no damage to his internal organs.
The vet estimates he is between eight and twelve years old. Based on his activity level, eight is more likely. He's super friendly, very mellow, loves having his neck scratched, enjoys chasing our dog, and excels at being lovable at local wineries. However we live in a small house with no backyard, and it's barely enough for our small dog. We want to see him go to a loving home with room to run once he's healthy again.
