My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PAYASO

Breed: Border Collie & Shepherd Mix
Birthday: 7/27/2023
Weight: 35 pounds
Health: Healthy, vaccinated, neutered.

Personality

Payaso is full of life, laughter, and curiosity—his name means "clown," and it fits him perfectly. He’s the kind of dog that turns any ordinary moment into a chance for fun. Whether he’s tossing his toys in the air, rolling in the grass, or play-bowing to get your attention, Payaso lives to make you smile. But don’t let his goofiness fool you—he’s also incredibly smart and perceptive. He picks up on training cues quickly and enjoys being challenged with games, tasks, and new experiences. Payaso is sensitive and in tune with his people, often checking in to see how you're feeling or offering a gentle nuzzle. He’s social, engaging, and would thrive in a home that gives him room to play, learn, and bond. With the right guidance, Payaso will not only be your family’s comic relief but also your most loyal and intuitive friend.

Breed Information

Border Collies and Shepherds are among the most intelligent and trainable breeds. They’re bred for focus and task-oriented work. Payaso will need both mental and physical outlets to stay healthy and happy.

‍♀️ Owner Responsibilities

  • Provide structured training and exercise

  • Engage in games, learning activities, or dog sports

  • Be patient and attentive to his emotional and physical needs

  • Ensure regular vet visits, nutrition, and grooming

⚠️ Things to Consider

  • High drive breed mix; not for sedentary households.

  • Never to be chained or tethered outside

  • Budget for regular and emergency vet care, training, and supplies

  • Be ready for a transition and adjustment period

  • Confirm your lease or landlord allows dogs

  • Consider allergies in the home

❤️ Why Payaso is an Excellent Choice

If you want a clever, engaging, and entertaining partner, Payaso is it. His playful energy and eagerness to please make him ideal for an active home that can give him purpose and affection. He’ll reward you with loyalty, laughs, and a strong bond.

More about this rescue

We are dedicated to saving dogs from high kill shelters, strays, owner surrenders and hoarders. We have been saving animals since December 2016. We hold weekly adoption events at various pet stores and pet expos. We hire dog walkers to walk our dogs and we have volunteers who help us weekly. Many of our dogs go to boarding and training to become adoptable and work on their behavioral issues. All our dogs are assessed to find a great family match.

All dogs receive all necessary medical attention and all dogs are vetted.
