Our sweet girl, Lilith, has been with us for several months now and just hasn't found her perfect match yet. She knows our shelter routine well and loves to play with the other dogs. Toys are absolutely awesome and it's not uncommon to see her and at least 1-2 other dogs running around the yard, all sharing the same toy! Most of our dogs greet new people with kisses and a lap full of paws but Lilith prefers to observe from a safe distance first. Once she senses that there's no danger, she does let her guard down and will show some curiosity. She's highly treat motivated and that has helped improve her confidence tremendously, making friends with several of our regular volunteers. One of our volunteers likes to "dance" with the dogs and Lilith has learned to jump up, put her paws in her hands and act as silly as possible. She may not be ready for the spotlight when she first arrives home and may be a bit of a wallflower at first but with patience, treats, time and maybe another doggy friend, she'll be surely shine!
If you have a heart full of compassion and the patience to let a shy pup bloom in her own time, Lillith could be your perfect match!
All PAWS cats and dogs are current on the vaccinations appropriate for their age. Those who are confirmed over 4 months old or older will have their rabies vaccinations. Age permitting, dogs/puppies are tested for heartworm disease. Cats/kittens are tested (and are negative) for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV). All are treated with flea/tick prevention and given internal parasite preventative on a regular basis. All are microchipped (for their safety and the adopter's peace of mind) as part of the adoption fee.
