My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Age: 2 1/2 years

Oh Walnut! It’s your time to shine, Bud!

Meet Walnut, a unique and quirky 2 1/2 years old boy! Walnut joined us back in June from the overcrowded living situation we’re assisting in after two cat fights happened, resulting in two significant injuries on Walnut. It was his time to retire, so here we are! Walnut is a pretty silly guy, and he hasn’t quite found his voice to tell you how he’s feeling. Instead of a meow, he hits you with a soft “reow” that sounds broken— it’s pretty cute! Walnut is admittedly shy from the beginning and needs time to warm up to his new people which is understandable considering his previous lifestyle! Walnut enjoys being picked up and carried around, loves cat treats and wet food, and this may be bias but we think he’s a pretty purrfect companion!

Additional adoption info

The time it takes to process an application largely depends on the speed at which we are able to contact personal references. If approved, we go over an adoption contract that the adopter will sign, and it is at this time that an adoption fee is required. If an adoption does not work out for any reason, our adoption contract requires that the kitty be returned to Furrever Friends Rescue and Volunteers, Inc.

More about this rescue

We are a foster-based no-kill cat rescue that is working to better the lives of cats in Gloucester and Camden Counties. We do not euthanize any of the animals in our care simply to make room for new ones. Although our operation is small, each and every homeless pet in our program receives the absolute best care possible until a furrever home can be found.
We are small... but mighty. Every animal saved is a victory.
Furrever Friends Rescue and Volunteers, Inc. (FFRV) is an all-volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit that strives to save the lives of homeless animals.

Furrever Friends operates entirely on donations from caring individuals such as yourself. And, because Furrever Friends is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, your cash donations are tax-deductible. Checks can be made out to "Furrever Friends."

Our volunteers work hard to:
-Provide safe, loving care in foster homes until a furrever family can be found.
-Spay/neuter and vaccinate pets prior to adoption to help control the pet overpopulation problem.
-Find new Furrever Homes for animals only after carefully screening potential adopters.
-Raise funds through special events and projects to cover veterinary and food costs.
-Fund emergency medical care to injured or abused animals in the FFRV program through "Geronimo's Fund".
-Showcase homeless animals at various venues to help find them homes, including our PetSmart Adoption Center in Deptford, NJ.
