Dog Name: Daisie Duke.
Breed: Mixed.
Sex: Female.
Age: 1 year old.
Weight: 40lbs.
Medical Needs: None.
Housebroken: Doing great with a schedule. Will have an accident if you are not paying attention to her cues but will go on a puppy pad.
Crate trained: Yes, goes in and gets a treat.
Good in the car: Yes.
Good on a leash: Work in progress - she is all over the place but takes correction well. She is also still scared of all things new so she will freeze if she hears something she’s not used to but she no longer pancakes! Progress!
Energy level: I’d describe it as puppy energy. She can get the major zoomies but can also snuggle up on the couch.
Need a fenced in yard: She would benefit from it. She’d love it for her zoomies but also it will keep her safe. Just in case her new life makes her nervous and she becomes a flight risk.
Dog Friendly: Yes! She loves other dogs.
If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? Not needed.
Cat Friendly? Unknown.
Kid Friendly: Yes, she’s a sweetheart.
If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? Any with proper supervision.
Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know?
Daisie Duke is not only adorable but she is a very special little girl. She snuggles into you and it’s the absolute sweetest! It’s like she is thanking you for saving her life. She is such a sweetheart but can be oh so timid. She takes some time to warm up and feel comfortable. Once you earn her trust she’s all in - you can take on the world together! If you’re someone who hasn’t quite earned her trust but she wants so bad to meet you she will be all tail wags and try to sneak getting closer to you. She came here scared of the world and startled easily but we are working on giving her the confidence that she needs to no longer be courage the cowardly dog. The washer, dryer, AC unit outside, trash truck.. all things new and scary to her. She no longer pancakes at all things new but she will freeze every now and then if startled but getting better with each day! Now that she has started to come out of her shell she is showing her true self. She is loving the good life and settling in nicely! She’s a fun loving pup who loves all of her toys, soft beds, her foster fur siblings, treats and meal times are her fav. She can get the zoomies outside but inside she can snuggle up on the couch with you or play with her toys. Daisie Duke is also doing well with learning basic commands, very treat motivated. This cautious girl came from NC on the ride to freedom van all the way to Delaware to get a fresh start at life. Every day is a work in progress for her and everyday she gets more and more brave. If you think you can handle all of this sweetness and have the love and patience to help her continue to come out of her shell - fill out an app today! She will be forever grateful and reward you with the sweetest kisses.
