Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi, I'm Lime Margarita! I'm a fun and curious kitty with plenty of love to give. I am always excited to explore my surroundings and see what's going on, and would really love to perch at the top of a cat tree or in a sunny window to have the best views! I enjoy being pet, sitting in your lap, and taking plenty of naps in my cozy bed.
I also LOVE to play, I’m the kind of cat who throws herself fully into toy time! Laser pointers, cat wands, feather teasers, and catnip cat scratchers are all my absolute favorites, and I’m always ready to chase, pounce, and show off my silly moves. I’m very smart and curious, so interactive toys that let me “hunt” or figure things out keep me happy and entertained. When I’m not playing, I adore curling up on warm spots like laps, blankets, or even your laptop if you’re not quick enough to stop me😆.
I did live with a dog briefly in a foster home, and while I wasn't overly fond of the situation, I was able to peacefully coexist. I can get a little startled by loud noises, so a home without young children may be best.
I have tested positive for feline leukemia virus (FeLV). This means at this time I can be housed with other cats that are FeLV+, but should not be housed with cats that have tested negative for FeLV. It is recommended that I be retested for FeLV with your veterinarian at least 60 days after my initial positive test.

More about this shelter
Welcome to CMHS! In continuous operation since 1943, the Central Missouri Humane Society promotes the well-being of companion animals – pets that enrich the lives of the people who love them.
The Columbia Humane Society was formed in 1943 to provide shelter and care for Columbia’s abandoned animals. Originating in a little structure on Creasy Springs Road, the organization has grown into today’s Central Missouri Humane Society, a regional animal welfare agency caring for thousands of animals annually and providing veterinary services for low-income pet owners.
