Onyx is in the precious gem litter and has a little white tuft on her neck. Onyx is now 2 years old. Onyx is sweet, timid and low energy. She is quiet and keeps to herself most of the time and enjoys naps. She likes to sit on the back of the couch and watch TV. She does like to be near and is your shadow, but isn't a cuddler. She's been in a foster home since she was a baby and is socialized, gets along with other cats and has been around cat friendly dogs, Onyx loves hiding spots, boxes, soft blankets, and enjoying life from her quiet corners.
Onyx is microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and spayed. We are looking for a calm home for Onyx and a person who will love her and have patience as she will be quiet and hiding when you first put her in a new place. But please know she is still a gentle soul and just needs a minute. If you have a great home for Onyx, please let us know! She is currently being fostered with two other shy girls who are also available. Athena and Andromeda. As much as we love fosters, they are not meant to be forever homes and we are hoping to find Onyx a home soon.
We are located at 609 East 5th Street, Tilton, Illinois. Please email citizensanimalrescue@gmail.com for an application and contact Connie 217-799-8858 with any questions.

More about this rescue
Building compassionate communities in East Central Illinois and West Central Indiana is a vitally compelling mission of CARA. We are committed to ending the unnecessary killing of healthy adoptable cats and dogs by providing a safe haven dedicated to the humane treatment of, and compassion for rescued, abandoned and abused animals surrendered to us. Animals in our care, our guests, are never killed. Our guest’s length of stay with us is not determined by a predefined amount of time and are cared for all their natural life. CARA’s ability to take in more guests is determined by our adoptions. As pets are adopted and space opens up, we will take in more. We are dedicated to supporting the health and well-being of our guests by ensuring each one is examined, vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and receives medical treatment before they are placed in stable, healthy, and loving homes. To further our mission to create compassionate communities in the counties we serve, we are devoted to reducing pet overpopulation, increasing public awareness related to animal issues, and promoting pet health by providing low-cost spay and neutering services for companion animals in our community. We also work with pet owners to sustain animals in their current home by providing dietary support and consultation to mitigate, where possible, the hardships pet owners face in keeping the animal in their home.
