My name is Ivy!

Have you ever felt misunderstood? Yeah, Ivy can relate. Ever felt like people expected too much of you? She knows that feeling, too. Adopting Ivy means adopting a cat with rules. Some people don’t like that. She has set clear boundaries for herself, and too often, people fail to respect them. Ivy is an excellent communicator. She’ll tell you when something doesn’t sit right with her, but she’ll do so politely. She’s looking for a good listener – someone who not only will understand her cues, but respect them, too.



Ivy is a confident, affectionate, and social cat. She enjoys being petted and will seek you out for head scratches. She’s not totally fond of getting picked up and being held, but she’ll indulge you when she’s in the mood. Ivy’s the type of cat who will greet you at the door and encircle you with love by rubbing her curvy body around your legs. She’ll likely meow at you to hurry up and scratch her head – geez, she’s been waiting for it all day! Ivy enjoys having her head brushed from time to time, and isn’t opposed to a gentle full-body brushing.



At 9 years young, Ivy still very much enjoys a good round of interactive play. In fact, it’s a necessary activity to prevent boredom, else she may start knocking things over. Make “kissy” noises at her and she’ll lift her nose up for a gentle kiss, but don’t get too greedy! Ivy likes to make the occasional biscuit, is comfortable with both men and women, and genuinely enjoys human company. She’s an excellent pill-taker as well!



Ivy will thrive in an adult-only home, but may accept older teenagers. One of her rules is that she be the only pet in the home. She’s currently taking guests at her foster home, just 10 minutes from our Leesburg location. Contact us to facilitate a visit!
