My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Pimento: Voted 'Most Likely to be a Supreme Court Justice' because he's watching and judging you. Pimento was born approximately April 9, 2025, in the spring in the back of the church.

He was rescued with his mom and siblings in late June. Pimento is an extremely serious cat who will take some time to warm up. He's got to have plenty of time to deliberate and make a judgment before he lets you into his circle, but it's worth the time and attention.

Pimento is not always serious, though, and he especially loves to play with his brother, Hatch, and would love to be adopted with him if that's possible. (after all, two are much better than one)

He claims to have had nothing to do with the feathered toy murders that have happened since his residence with his foster family. After all, a cat in his position could have nothing but such frivolous play, but you might try it anyway, if you take this little guy home forever!!

Both Pimento and Hatch were named after a pepper!  Their antics will make sure that not a day goes by without making you laugh!

Additional adoption info

Adoption Fees start at $100.00 and depend on the pet. Some have had extensive surgeries and rehabilitation. We have an application/Contract process. We do an In Home visit, especially with hard to place pets. We will need a vet and 2 other references. We can arrange a private appointment with the foster if desired.

Paws does the majority of adoptions through Applications submitted on our Website at www.pawsrescue.org .
We have an application process which is designed to find the best home for a particular pet. Paws assists with humane education and low cost spay and neuter information. We do not have a shelter. All our adoptable pets are placed in individual foster homes until adopted sometimes taking months. None of our adoptable pets are euthanized to make space.

More about this rescue

Paws Animal Rescue, Inc. is an ALL VOLUNTEER Non Profit, 501-C-3 Organization that began in May 1999 in Alvin, Texas. All funds received (donations and adoption fees) are used directly to the benefit of the animals. There are NO paid employees at Paws Animal Rescue. Paws is a TARPA (Texas Acceptance and Release Program) Certified Organization. Please remember “UNTIL THERE ARE NONE, ADOPT ONE”.

Paws saw the need to rescue adoptable cats and dogs at animal control facilities where the holding days can be as little as 3 to 5 days. Paws never adopts a pet until it has been completely vetted and most importantly spayed and neutered. We network with all shelters with lists of available cats and dogs. If we do not have what they are looking for we find someone who does.
