Hi, my name is Sheeta and I am a 1 year old DNA Tested Female dark blue cobalt lineolated parakeet also known as a Linnie. I joined the rescue after my Previous Owner’s apartment was raided because he had too many pigeons. During the raid, he snuck me out of my cage and put me in his pocket! I was extremely stressed out, and it was a very hot summers day, and the whole experience was extremely traumatic for me, but he reached out to my rescuer because he knew she had a way with birds, most people had never heard of my species, but they like how quiet and calm we are. I was very anxious and scared when I first came to the rescue and I didn’t wanna do anything except lay under her neck and sleep, but I soon opened up And started socializing with other birds, but my favorite thing in the world is watching people, I’m a bit of a diva and the way I show affection is flashing my bombastic side eye and giving her gentle kisses when she Offers me her finger. my species is known to be on the timid side, so a calmer environment will help me open up a lot quicker than a noisy chaotic environment. I do enjoy the company of other birds that are used to smaller birds (I am smaller than a love bird) but even though I am tiny, I have a huge personality and I’m not scared of other animals and will approach any dog or cat assuming they are friends so I need to be heavily monitored if your pets have any prey drive or aren’t used to birds because I am 1 bite to most pets. I haven’t started talking yet, but I tried to mumble and mudder little words when you talk to me and I love being told how cute I am I don’t have any songs memorized, but I will hum you a little tune if you drown me in compliments. If I sound like I might make a good addition to your family please reach out to my rescuer with the information listed above my story to schedule a time to meet with me. I am approved for same-day adoption and it is requested that if you are interested in bringing me home, please bring a crate, a travel carrier, or bird backpack. Please feel free to ask any questions that are not already answered in my profile. I am a very good girl and would make a very nice companion for any home /apartment /townhouse/condo etc. I look forward to hearing from you.

Additional adoption info

My adoption process is incredibly simple and stress-free because I want my Adopter’s main focus to be bonding with their new Family Member. All animals approved for adoption have been checked by a licensed veterinarian and have been cleared healthy and ready for adoption. It is not my policy to adopt out any animals if they are sick and have not undergone multiple health evaluations, training, and rehabilitation.

Go meet their pets

We are located in Palmdale, but occasionally get invited to adoption events at the Hermosa Beach Festival or the Palos Verdes Fourth of July Festival.

More about this rescue

My mission will always be to give those in need that were discarded, abandon, abused, and neglected The second chance they so desperately deserve. The ones who lost faith and trust in people and who just need someone who won’t give up on them, and it is my deepest goal to match each family with the animal that suits their family dynamic. I of all people understand that life can throw unexpected curveballs that you’re not prepared for but it doesn’t mean these angels don’t deserve the absolute best life we could give them in the short amount of time they are here with us. Although my family is broken, it is my deepest wish to complete yours. I have a unique role as a rescuer because I have been a rescuer, licensed domestic and exotic rehabilitator and exotic animal educator as well as concierge vet for low income families for 23 years now and I don’t see myself stopping anytime soon. It is truly my calling, and I have dedicated my life to being the voice, caretaker and rehabilitator for the voiceless angels in need of a second chance.
