My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Name, age, breed: Rango, 2yrs, Boxer mix

Likes: Cuddling, long walks, fetching, tugging on ropes, playing with toys and bones, being pet, sleeping with a night light

Dislikes: Sudden movements, loud noises

What would be the ideal home? Rango would do well in a home with an experienced owner that can continue his obedience training and socialization. Backyard to play, lots of people to give attention to him.

Good with other cats? No as he has a prey drive

Good with dogs? He likes to play with them, but can guard his toys therefore it is recommended to keep dogs apart with toys around

Good with children? Possibly, but no toddlers recommended due to size, energy and nervousness

Temperament: Extremely social, active

Motivators? Treats, kibble

Any commands? Sit, lay down, stay, come

House trained? Yes

Crate trained? Yes

How long will it take to settle into a new environment? 3-3-3 rule: First 3 days - Your dog may be overwhelmed and may hide, have a lack of appetite, or test boundaries. Give them space and time to adjust in a quiet room with their bed, food, water, and toys. 3 weeks - Your dog may start to settle in and their personality will emerge. You can expect behavior issues to arise, so set boundaries and expectations with positive reinforcement training. 3 months - Your dog should be comfortable and acclimated to your home. They should know their routine and expect meals and enrichment at specific times.

Any special needs or traits an adopter should know? Lots of energy in the house when he hasn’t had a walk in a while, pulls decently hard on the leash, barks when people knock at the door.
