My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Scooter!

Scooter's story is one of resilience and a second chance well earned! This 8-year-old Havanese mix was rescued from a shelter where he sat untouched in a medical room for over a month - matted, scared, and terrified of the world. Let's be honest, he was a hot mess. A rescue pulled him from the shelter, and one grooming session later and some love from a foster home...Scooter was a NEW MAN!

Now thriving in his foster home with another dog buddy, Scooter's personality is shining. He’s playful, a little clownish, sassy, and absolutely devoted to his foster mom. He's still learning to trust men, but with patience and kindness, he's making progress every day.

Scooter must have some part of him touching you at all times. A paw on your foot, a snuggle on your lap, or a lean against your side—he just wants to feel close. He does best with someone who understands that trust takes time and that a gentle hand is required.

Scooter is adored by everyone who meets him. With a loving, patient home, he’s ready to give his whole quirky heart to someone special. Could that be you?

More about this rescue

Shy Club Rescue: A specialized rescue dedicated to often-overlooked shy dogs in shelters

At Shy Club Rescue, we embrace a heartfelt mission: to offer a nurturing refuge for shy dogs who are struggling in the shelter system. As shelter volunteers, we find ourselves often drawn to these dogs as they need a little extra time and patience to blossom. Our commitment is deep and unwavering; we provide specialized care, gentle socialization, and training tailored to the unique needs of each dog.

Our vision extends beyond mere rescue – we aim to unlock the hidden potential within each dog, fostering confidence and trust in a world that may have seemed too loud, too fast, too much. In uniting these dogs with empathetic, patient families, we ensure a future where every dog experiences the warmth of a forever home that cherishes their true nature and personality.

Shy Club Rescue is a movement to spotlight the overlooked, to uplift the underdogs, and to celebrate the moments when shy dogs find their confidence.
