Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Terra is pure sunshine in dog form, radiating joy wherever she goes. As a proud Hidden Gems Club member, she brings a special kind of sparkle that makes her truly unforgettable. She greets each day with a wagging tail, bright eyes, and an enthusiasm that’s impossible not to catch. Playtime is one of her specialties—whether she’s dashing after toys, romping in the yard, or turning even the simplest game into something silly and fun, Terra knows how to make every moment feel like an adventure. Her goofy charm and natural zest for life make her a pup who can lift anyone’s spirits. When the excitement winds down, she’s quick to settle at your side, leaning in close as if to say that being near her people is her favorite place to be. Those floppy ears and her signature happy grin only add to her irresistible personality. With Terra, you’re gaining a loyal friend, a playful companion, and a daily dose of happiness all in one. She can’t wait to bring her bright spirit into a home of her own.

Falling in love with a pet is easy and pet ownership is very rewarding. Adopting a pet, however, is a big decision. Dogs, cats, and other furry friends require a lot of time, money, and commitment. Our experienced adoption coordinators will gladly help you find an animal that's likely to be a good fit for your lifestyle and living arrangements.
At our shelter, all dogs must be escorted out on a leash and collar. For smaller dogs, a carrier or crate may be used instead. All cats require a secure carrier for their journey home. Should you find yourself without the necessary supplies at the time of adoption, we offer a selection of basic items available for purchase right here at the shelter.
Our adoption process is designed to be thorough yet efficient. It includes an essential meeting with the animal you are interested in adopting. If the animal is prepared to join a new home, you may be able to complete the adoption on the same day. Please note, the process can take up to an hour or longer, particularly if there are specific medical preparations needed for your new pet. We aim to facilitate immediate placements into loving homes, and as such, we no longer offer holds on animals ready to leave the same day.
Included in the Adoption Fee:
The adoption fee covers the cost of spaying or neutering your pet, micro-chipping, annual vaccinations, and a rabies vaccination. For residents of Sarasota County, there is an additional $13 fee for a rabies tag and registration.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to ensure a smooth and successful adoption for each animal and their new family. Thank you for supporting our mission and choosing to adopt.
Adoption Fees
For Dogs:

Small Adult Dogs (less than 30lbs): $300
