My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Tye – The Comeback King with a Goofy Soul and a Grin You’ll Never Forget
Available for Adoption or Foster

Looking for a big-hearted, goofy boy who will make you laugh every single day? That’s me! I’m Tye, and I’ve come a long way to get here.

I’m a 6-year-old German Shepherd with a million-dollar smile and a comeback story to match. When I first came into the shelter, I was in rough shape — my eyes were sealed shut from infection, and my ears had been neglected for so long that they needed surgery. But I never gave up.

I spent five months in the hospital getting the care I needed, and now? I’m healthy, healed, and full of joy.

I’m a big guy with a big appetite and an even bigger heart. I still need a little daily help, mostly with my eyes. They need to be cleaned every day, but I’m very sweet about it. My ears are closed after surgery, so my hearing isn’t perfect - but I’m not deaf. I can still hear things, especially when someone’s saying “dinner” or “walk!”

What you’ll notice most about me, though, is how happy I am. I play by tossing my toys in the air, I give my paw when I want love, and I flash my trademark grin just to see you smile back. I’ve got medium energy — I love walks and playtime, but I also know how to chill. I’m good with other dogs, good with tweens and up, and great with people. Brushing, petting, bonding — I live for it.

If you’re looking for a dog who makes you laugh, gives you love, and reminds you that joy always finds a way… that’s me. I’ve already survived the hard part. Now I just need someone to help me thrive.

I’m looking for my family, and I’m happy to do foster-to-adopt — my rescue will even cover the costs while I’m in foster care.

So what do you say? Ready to give a good boy his best chapter yet?

Let’s write our story together.
— Tye

More about this rescue

As a 501(c)(3) dog rescue organization, our mission at Angel Dog Alliance is to save the lives of dogs facing euthanasia in high-kill shelters nationwide by pledging funds that enable rescues to take in, rehabilitate, and rehome animals in need. On occasion, if we do not have a local rescue in place in the city the dogs are in, we bring them to Illinois to avoid their euthanasia. They are placed in boarding for vetting, once done, they are promoted for fostering or adoption.
