Kong is a 7-year-old red fox Labrador mix searching for his forever home. He’s the definition of a gentle giant — big in size but even bigger in heart. With his calm and kind demeanor, Kong wins over everyone he meets. He’s wonderful with people, though he can take a little time to warm up. Quick movements or raised voices can make him flinch. Despite that, Kong’s affectionate side shines through once he feels safe — he loves belly rubs and attention for hours on end. He’s amazing with other dogs, and during his time in foster care, we’ve learned that he would likely thrive best in a home with another dog to build his confidence. Kong is well-mannered, walks nicely on a leash, and knows basic commands like sit, lay down, shake, and of course, his name. He only hops on furniture if invited and is perfectly content lounging on a comfy dog bed. He’s fully potty-trained, doesn’t need a crate, and spends most of his day peacefully roaming the house. Kong is a laid-back companion who enjoys a balance of walks and long naps, rarely barks, and gets along wonderfully with kids, adults, and other dogs — truly the perfect addition to any home.
Kong is currently in foster care outside of the shelter. If you are interested in learning more or meeting Kong, please complete the survey using the link below (copy and paste link):
All dogs and cats will be spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, preventative care, and microchipped.
