Meet Ethel – A Diamond in the Rough with a Heart of Gold!
📍 Currently in Bradenton, FL | 🐶 Applications: ewenityfarmsbch.com
Ethel is one of 30+ dogs rescued from a heartbreaking hoarding situation — and while her past was filled with neglect, her future is full of possibility. She’s about 1–2 years old, and despite everything she’s been through, this little Beagle mix is gentle, sweet-natured, and incredibly resilient.
Right now, Ethel is still a work in progress, but she's made tremendous strides with love and time:
🌟 PUPDATE 10/17:
She's now housebroken, crate-trained, and uses a puppy door
Walks short distances on leash
Learning to seek out affection and even snuggles!
Loves toys, other dogs, and is very food motivated
Hair is growing back beautifully, and her soft spirit is starting to shine
But Ethel still needs a very special kind of home — one with:
✔️ A fenced yard
✔️ At least one kind, confident dog to mentor her
✔️ People with patience, dog-savviness, and a heart for the underdog
✔️ A commitment to letting Ethel move at her own pace — not yours
Ethel is still timid with new people and environments. She won’t be your walking buddy right away, and she’s not yet a dog you can parade through a busy neighborhood. But in the right home, with steady support and structure, she will continue to bloom.
💡 If you’ve worked with shy, unsocialized dogs before — or if you're a Beagle lover who understands the breed’s quirks and charm — Ethel could be your next great success story.
Watching her come out of her shell has been nothing short of magical. She’s gone from frozen and fearful to curious and cuddly — and she’s so ready to take her next steps with a family of her own.

More about this rescue
We are a small, foster-based rescue organization located in Southwest Florida. Being small helps us give more one-on-one attention to individual dogs and their needs. Rescued dogs are kept in our homes and treated as our own. Herding dogs are unique. They are highly intelligent and require much of the owner’s attention. The dogs are evaluated, when they come into the rescue, for any temperament and health issues. Then they are given basic obedience, socialization and rehabilitation as it is necessary.
It is our sole purpose to find forever homes for these loving, wonderful dogs that have been discarded through no fault of their own. All adopted dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, micro-chipped, and on flea and heartworm preventative.
