My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mama Nellie was rescued from a dump site on 6/19/24 and gave birth to ELEVEN babies the next day. Miraculously, all eleven babies survived including her daughter, Dewberry. They are now a bonded pair. Dewberry had been bonded with another rabbit in a foster home when they were attacked by a dog. The other rabbit did not survive. Dewberry was not physically harmed, but was traumatized. Once she had time to decompress & heal a bit, we tried her with her mom and it was an instant bond. It helped her heal, but she may not do well in a home with a dog. She was in a group home that had a calm, friendly dog upon her return and that did not seem to upset her.

These two have overcome so much. Now they need a home to call their own!

Mama Nellie’s estimated DOB is 6/20/23. She is spayed and fully vaccinated (RHDV2). Dewberry was born in rescue on 6/20/24. She is also spayed and fully vaccinated (RHDV2).

More about this rescue

USQKS is a foster-based 501c3 small animal rescue & sanctuary.

Our History:

Before USQKS, our founder worked in active Guinea Pig Rescue. From there, the active Small Animal Rescue journey started with a… mouse! From there, the journey to becoming a Small Animal Rescue & Sanctuary expanded to hamsters, gerbils, rats and more. That journey then led to chinchillas and last, but not least, domesticated rabbits!
