Dolly is very scared, and she’s not shy about letting the world know that she prefers her space. Her favorite places are the quiet corners where she won’t be touched, and right now, she is not a fan of hands or attention. She needs lots of personal space, plenty of alone time, and a home that respects her boundaries without trying to rush or change her.
In the past, people were unkind to Dolly, and because of that, it will take her a long while to decide that humans are okay. What she needs most is a patient, compassionate person who will let her exist on her own terms—no expectations, no pressure. With time and consistency, Dolly may learn that she is safe. If you’re someone who understands that love can be quiet and trust is earned slowly, Dolly is worth the wait
Come meet me at the cage-free Adoption Center! All cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and tested for FIV/FeLV. **If interested in adopting me, please fill out an online adoption application at https://colonycats.org/adoption_app.html to expedite the process. Due to the large number of inquiries received, we are unable to respond to emails quickly.**
Feline Immunodeficiency Virus positive cats can live normal lives both in quality and duration. They do take special care in terms of monitoring them for signs of infection. FIV can be passed from cat to cat via deep bite wounds, but not from casual contact so positive cats can live with negative cats without the fear of spreading FIV as long as they get along and are spayed/neutered. For more information about FIV – feline immunodeficiency virus visit this website: https://bestfriends.org/resources/fiv-cats-faqs-feline-immunodeficiency-virus
