My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet King, at 14 years old he's a mellow senior fellow. We know his age because he was adopted from WakeGov Pets: Wake County Animal Center in 2012 and returned by the same family due to separation anxiety. But, these "symptoms" (mostly panting and pacing) are more consistent with some aging pups. If you've lived with a senior dog before you recognize these symptoms as conditions that can be worked with when you bring patience, mental stimulation, and understanding.

The foster family adores him. He is super sweet and gentle and adores going on walks - and he walks well and can go for a while (though he is definitely faster downhill and in the cooler weather!). He lives with other dogs in the foster home and loves meeting other dogs on walks or at the bottle shop where he is a welcomed regular! King is good with all kids, dogs, is house trained, and likes to be near you. We do not know how he is with cats but does not exhibit strong prey drive on walks.

Living with a senior dog and helping them navigate mild memory issues is rewarding but does takes extra effort.
