My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Astrid: The Affectionate Tortie Who Traded the 'Tude for Chirps!
Meet Astrid, a gorgeous Tortoiseshell who completely defies the reputation of her breed—she's a loving, gentle girl who has absolutely none of the famous "tortitude"! Astrid is a total sweetheart who simply wants to be where the people are, making her a perfect candidate for anyone looking for a loyal, dedicated companion.

A Master of Affectionate Communication
Astrid is exceptionally communicative and has a charming way of letting you know she needs love. She will announce her desire for attention with the cutest little chirps and soft meows, practically asking you to come over and say hello. Once you're near, she's a master at asking for pets: she'll enthusiastically rub against your legs or gently head-butt your hand until you start scratching.

From Shy Observer to Constant Cuddler
While Astrid is ultimately a very affectionate cat, she may be a little shy with strangers at first. She needs a few moments to observe the situation and make sure everything is calm. But don't worry—once this lovely lady feels comfortable and realizes you're a friend, she quickly transforms into a devoted cuddler! Her initial shyness melts away, and she'll be right there asking for lap time and becoming your affectionate, chatty shadow.

If you’re looking for a beautiful Tortie whose primary trait is pure, uncomplicated love, and you appreciate a companion who will always let you know exactly what she needs, Astrid is ready to be your constant, sweet purr-box!

Go meet their pets

Adoption events are held regularly in the community at Petco Winchester VA every other Saturday. Additional events are held at area festivals, wineries, breweries, and parks. Approved adopters can schedule a private meet and greet with their chosen pet. Same day adoptions are not done, so please apply in advance of any adoption event to give us time to check vet and personal references and to complete the video home visit.
