Meet Huck, the world’s most lovable “lap dog” who just happens to be not so lap-sized. 😂 This sweetheart thinks he’s a tiny baby and will happily flop onto anyone—yes, even cats and babies—just to soak up all the love and attention. If we could put him in a baby carrier, he’d probably be the happiest pup alive!
Huck is a champion snuggler, a crate pro, and is rocking his potty training. He was a little shy meeting new doggie friends, but once he realizes they’re cool, he’s ready to play. He also walks beautifully on a leash and loves his strolls.
Like any puppy, he’s still learning a few manners here and there, but with all the sweetness (and comedy) he brings, he’s absolutely worth it. 🐾❤️

The shelter is located at 589 Coolwater Drive in Bastrop Texas. Please come meet our pets Wednesday through Sunday from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm

The Bastrop Animal Control organization became a reality in 1998. We've grown since then and continue to do so as Bastrop County grows. Currently, we have 3 separate buildings containing a total of 90 large indoor/outdoor kennels and 8 play yards. We have 30 indoor cat kennels. We also have a 3 room cattery, that enables cats to live together in colony type environments until they find their forever home. If you have ever worked with or adopted a shelter pet, you know just how much they crave the attention and love we and our volunteers can provide and their eternal gratitude when they find their forever home at last.
