Meet Whisper, a 10-year-old Rat Terrier mix who weighs just under 18 pounds. This quiet little lady may be a bit reserved at first, but it doesn’t take long for her happy personality to shine through. Once she warms up, she’s all tail wags and gentle affection, following her person from room to room and happily curling up beside them—or right in their lap.
Whisper is fully house-trained and does great in her crate. During the day, she enjoys napping in her crate with the door open, and at night she sleeps soundly in her crate in another room (often sharing with her foster brother!). She’s a lower-energy girl who’s content to hang out around the house or relax in the yard, but she really lights up when it’s time for a walk. She walks beautifully on leash and is happy to go for a quick stroll or a longer adventure.
She’s friendly and adaptable, doing well with both big and small dogs, cats, and people. Whisper has met children as young as seven and does well with respectful kids, though she’d likely be most comfortable with children eight and up.
Whisper would thrive in just about any home. Whether she joins a family with other pets or finds a quiet home where she can soak up all the love herself, this sweet, loyal girl will make a wonderful companion to whoever is lucky enough to adopt her.
Her minimum adoption fee is $100 plus a $15 rabies registration fee (for McLean County residents, if 4 months or older).
She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
