PERSONALITY:
MIssy LOVES human attention. She will give head butts and paw pats to get her foster mom to give her pets. She’s a purr machine and very playful.

LIKES/DISLIKES/OTHER ANIMALS/CHILDREN:
Missy loves to be pet on her head and neck. She purrs really loudly and will do anything she can to get more attention and pets from her foster mom. She will give head butts, roll over, meow and paw at her foster mom until she gets more attention. She sometimes will get overstimulated when getting pet, usually when it’s past her head and neck area. She may give a swat or two (no claws out) but will come right back for pets , while she’s purring the entire time! She’s very food motivated and loves all kinds of different foods. She’s learning to play and becoming more playful each day. She was very uncomfortable with men when first rescued, but is becoming more and more comfortable with them in her foster home. She is a little uncomfortable around other cats, especially very playful ones , but is doing better each day. She would do best with a calmer cat or two in her home (or she’d be fine as an only cat too!) She hasn’t been around dogs or kids in our care. She would have to be with calm kids or cat friendly dogs in order to do well with them.

MIssy isn’t good with sudden movements and loud sounds. She will need a patient adopter in order to adjust in a new home. She has made really great gains while in foster care. Her foster mom believes she will continue to open up and blossom when in a home that works with her and gives her lots of love and patience.

***Please remember; our cats have a low thirst drive and NEED the moisture in the wet food. Since wet food is 75% moisture and dry food only 10%, that is huge for our felines. Cats need wet food daily to avoid a lot of dehydration related medical problems long term like urinary tract issues which can lead to litter box avoidance and kidney disease or obesity issues linked to diabetes..

VETTING: MIssy is spayed, up to date on shots, microchipped, and combo tested FIV/FELV negative. She has 30 day flea treatment on and has been dewormed.

More about this rescue

Furry Nation Salvation, Inc. is a foster based all-volunteer non-profit animal rescue organization located in Florida. We commit our resources throughout Volusia County and surrounding areas in finding permanent homes for abandoned, unwanted, and neglected animals. Run by dedicated volunteers, our work is a heartfelt collaboration in making a difference for the innocent animals without a voice. Our foster volunteers “one on one” care help us to determine the animals true personality to best fit them into their forever home. We also promote, practice, and work, in the area of TNR (trap, neuter, return). This method of population reduction and control for feral cats has proven to be successful and we are committed to this method. FNS strives to educate the public on the importance of spay and neutering their pets and provide locations where they are able to do so at a discounted price. We assist in transporting animals to and from veterinary clinics, and help individuals place their unwanted pet who would otherwise be dumped at an animal shelter with an uncertain future. We do so by utilizing social media and animal adoption sites and always making ourselves available with support and advice. We love what we do and together we make a difference for so many. Furry Nation Salvation does not have a facility and rely on foster homes for our rescued animals. Our current goal is to establish a dedicated rescue facility to be able to help even more animals in need.
