This helps Mountainair Animal Shelter with pet care costs.

Hi! My name is Raisin Bran. I was born in February 2025 so I am fully grown now and about 35lbs. I came into the Mountainair Animal Shelter in July 2025 with TEN other puppies. We were part of a hoarding/neglect situation and because of that I am still pretty scared, shy, and nervous.
When I first came in with my litter mates we were essentially feral with how fearful we all were. It took months of decompression and assistance from Julie Hart with Hart to Heart Canine Training to help with socialization and allowing us to become dogs.
Today, while I am still nervous and scared, I am no longer feral. I can be leashed and go for walks and even engage in playing with other dogs. Walking through doorways and new experiences are still scary for me so I need a person who doesn't mind going slow. I have been with a foster human since the beginning of January 2026 which has helped me learn the ropes of living in a home as opposed to a kennel. My progress has been small, but progress is progress!
If you have patience and the heart to help a nervous guy like me settle into a home and learn to be a pet, I would love the opportunity. I am already spayed, have all my vaccines, tested negative for heartworm, and I am microchipped. Plus, one of the volunteers at the shelter has offered to sponsor my adoption fee. Call ACO Jennifer at 505-705-0099 to learn more or apply online today.
