Ludwig was found as a stray in August. Since coming to us, he has shown both cooperative and challenging behaviors.
The Challenges (Honest Truth):
-Can be inconsistent in demeanor — friendly and social at times, but can be reactive when in high stimulus situations.
-Strong and can be difficult to leash walk.
-Can be stubborn; requires guidance and structure.
-Interest in other dogs is mixed; while neutral with most, he may feed off the energy of reactive dogs and escalate.
-Tends to lose focus and burn out quickly during training sessions.
Why He’s Worth It:
-Cooperative with leashing and responsive to corrections on walks.
-Treat-motivated and capable of learning with consistency and short, engaging training.
-Redirectable when presented with distractions or reactive dogs.
-Social and interactive when engaged, with a willingness to connect when he feels secure.
Ludwig will do best with an adopter who has experience reading dog behavior, can provide consistent training, and is comfortable managing a dog who may be unpredictable at times.
