ABOUT CHICKEN WING/GHOST
You may be wondering why this pup has two names...well, he’s had quite the journey with HAP! When Ghost first came to us, we believed he had been found as a stray, so we gave him the name “Chicken Wing.” Later, we learned that his original name was Ghost and that he came from a difficult situation. No matter the name, he’s now safe, loved, and ready for a fresh start!
Adjusting to the shelter has been challenging for Ghost, as he isn’t a fan of loud noises or a busy environment. To help ease his nerves, we converted one of our meet-and-greet rooms into his own private space. Since then, we’ve seen noticeable improvements in his behavior, as he’s finally beginning to feel safe. Ghost absolutely loves having a crate in his room and sleeps beautifully through the night while crated. During the day, you’ll often find him snoozing in his cozy nest of blankets or sprawled out on the cool floor to relax. He loves zooming around our agility field, training with his friends, and climbing in your lap, once he's tired! Ghost can be timid with new people at first, but we suspect this is a result of his past. With patience, and lots of treats, he is quick to warm up and embrace his friends. Once you're in with this guy, he is sure to be an active, loving companion!
**Ghost is seeking a home without children or other pets!
If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
