Lucy came to RescueConnect Animal Rescue both emotionally and physically broken. She had suffered a severe leg injury that required amputation, but this brave little girl is healing beautifully and adjusting well to her new mobility.
Initially shy—especially around men—Lucy is slowly blossoming in her loving foster home. With patience and kindness, she’s beginning to trust and seek out companionship. She does wonderfully with other dogs and would thrive with a confident, gentle canine friend to help her continue building confidence. Her experience with cats is unknown.
Lucy prefers not to be crated and is currently working on housebreaking, which may be related to her mobility changes. A home where someone is around during the day would be ideal to support her continued progress.

Once the adoption application is received, a home visit will be set up. If that goes well and is approved, then a vet check is completed (if the applicant has recently owned an animal, if not, two professional references will be required). Once both of those are approved, then the adoption fee will need to be paid.

Most pets are in foster homes in Wilmington NC and can be met by appointment. Most of our adoptable cats are in homes in Hampstead NC and can be met by appointment.
