Please contact 304-592-1600 if interested.
She has very specific needs.
Suzy Q Was returned for not being house trained. Although she didn't have that issue in her foster home.
This girl will need a LOT of time and patience with everything she has been through.
She is visually impaired so she can snap, as that is her only defense. She was in a house with multiple dogs so would probably love a doggie friend that could also maybe help her with her potty training skills.
UPDATED BIO:
Suzy Q was one of five dogs rescued from a desperate situation. Her four buddies were sent to another rescue, but she was left and subsequently shut down. Thanks to some time and patience at her foster mom’s house, this little girl has found herself again. No longer is she hiding in a corner but is out and about with her foster brothers and sisters. She’s eating with gusto. She’s allowing (and relishing!) her foster mom’s pets.
When Suzy moves into her forever home, she’ll need an adjustment period. But as soon as she learns her territory, you will forget she’s visually impaired (she has very low vision) She loves to assist making her breakfast and dinner. She can use the bench to climb into bed for cuddles. She can jump on the couch and make herself one of the pile of dogs. She LOVES to be outside and if you have a fenced yard, she’ll have found her holy grail.
Suzy Q weighs 20 lbs. Around 6 yrs old. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines & dewormer, microchipped.

More about this shelter
Our mission is to pull animals that were strays or owner surrenders from the Harrison County Animal Control (WV) and make them adoptable to the public. We provide veterinary services such as vaccinations as well as spaying or neutering, microchipping, (in accordance with WV law), testing of Lyme/ HW for dogs and Felv/Fiv for cats, and then try to pair them with the best potential adopters. We are not county funded, and so rely on our generous supporters and donors to help provide the care and basic necessities of our furry friends.
